Ode to Tad

Oh Tad,
You are Rad!
You are such a great Dad.
You hardly ever get mad,
or sad
That is why we are glad
to have you our Tad!
Seven years with this man and I love him more everyday!

Here a few birthday pictures. Wish you were all here to taste the deliciousness contained in this cake.

For your summer enjoyment!

Okay so I know I'm tooting my own horn, but I just couldn't help but share the fun! To stay sane while Luke is recovering I worked on this project:
It really is a project because the flowers have to be made a few days ahead to dry. They were super fun to learn how to make. I tried a few more kinds of flowers, but liked these best for Markie's cake. Then I used my cake cricut to decorate the rest. That machine is awesome! I have found a great recipe for the material you need to make it and it works. Previously I have been frustrated with the machine because it just didn't work right. Got to love YouTube you can learn anything. Well all in all it was a fun project and most importantly it was for my darling Sister who I would do just about anything for.

Another Hospital Visit

Luke got his tonsils removed and umbilical hernia fixed this last week.
Here is Luke pre-surgery. Cute little devil.
He didn't really like the hospital gown, but was a pretty good sport. He did however LOVE the slippers and has worn them often since.
To entertain him before surgery (because they have you come so early) we played some horse races. It was great fun and he makes some amazing (LOUD) horse noises.
Here is Luke with a little sleepy medicine in him. After surgery he looked like this too, but the camera's battery went dead so we don't have pictures to document it. He was awesome in the hospital and ate popsicles great, mashed potatoes, took a nap. Don't worry he was saving all the misery for his mom to deal with.
My Aunt Cherie made his hat. It is so cute with monkeys on it. We got the package when we got home from the hospital. I showed Luke and set it by him. When I came back he was like this. Cute. - As a side note, no I didn't make him lay on the ground he insisted.
Here is Austin's cool hat from Aunt Cherie. It has jingle bells on it like a Court Jester. So so cute.

Cole's role this week was "the Luke whisperer." When Luke wouldn't calm down I just laid Baby Cole by him and it did the trick. Such a good baby!
This is the spot where Luke has dwelled this week. He has his Mickey Mouse paraphernalia.
Aunt Markie helped Austin make this super sweet 'get well card.' He drew pictures of Luke, him, and a snowman and car of course.
Our Projects this week:
Tad is working on making a radio controlled paper air plane. The boys think this is pretty cool.
We made a count down chain until Uncle Landon comes home.

Finally a picture of the battle wound.
