Here was Tad, Austin, and I's project for the last two weeks. We have these three sisters in our ward who put on this festival of trees every year. All the proceeds go to a developmentally challenged program for adults. They needed one more person to decorate the tree (someone had already sponsored it) and the called me. I think they were a little shocked when I said that Tad would be the one to help me, but they don't know the skills my Taddy Boy has. Boy I couldn't have done it without him. He was a little upset at my theme because it was pretty cutesie and girly, but if we do it again we will do something more his style.
For the topper I was totally stumped right until we put it on the tree. It ended up being my favorite part (Thanks Taddy Boy!)
My theme was "Sugar & Spice." I put cinnamon pine cones in the middle of the tree just to give the fragrance. Then I found gingerbread men and women for ornaments. We also hot glued some candy canes together to make hearts and put some cinnamon sticks to decorate the middle. The icicles looked like they had sugar crystals on them. Finally my crowning touch for the theme was the copper cookie cutters as ornaments.
I wish I would have taken Austin to decorate the tree he would have been great help, but it was fun for Tad and I to go decorate it. Whew! We are glad that is done:)

Oh my goodness, your tree turned out darling!! It doesn't surprise me though. Do you guys want to come and decorate our tree this year?=)
Holy cow - you are a go getter my friend. The tree looks amazing! I promise your mom does love you more than she loves me- because being able to decorate like that means so much more than awesome bow decorating at the age of 8. :) That probably will sound so weird to everybody else. :)
You are one amazing girl with a pretty amazing husband! I can't believe your creativeness and your willingness to share it. You constantly surprise and amaze me! Way to go!
it's beautiful! What a great thing for the two of you to do together. Gotta love crafty husbands-they are the best! I can't believe how big & adorable your boys are. I told your mom yesterday that they'll have 3 grandsons just like my folks! Boys are so much fun!
Are you going to be here for CHristmas Eve this year?
The tree looks fantastic! You are such a talented lady! And any guy who's willing to help decorate a tree is a gem in my book.
Just more proof in my eyes that you and Tad were meant for each other. I am still amazed at how much Tad likes to do that kind of stuff. We must really have held him back in his creative juices when we were kids. Kinda hard with so many sisters I guess.
Beautiful !!!
That tree turned out great. Kind of a neat project and the plus side is the fact that you make a little money to help someone less fortunate. As for Tad's creativity! I'm pretty sure he got that from you. Give those boys a kiss from me.
love the tree, and let's hear it for the artsie-fartsie husbands!!!
Super cute and you're amazing to take on such a project with 2 boys and one on the way. I'm thinking of doing no decorating but I know I won't get away with that but I'm not looking forward to putting up the same old sad fake tree wish I had money to buy a festival tree.
We went to the festival of trees and I remember looking at the ornaments on that tree and thinking they were so cute!
