Is this child trained to be my child or what? I love that my men love to do a manly form of my projects with me. For example Austin loves to cut the threads after I'm done sewing. They love to help me cook (my future daughter in laws will thank me on one of their sick days).
With that statement I must thank my own mother in law for teaching her son to make wonderful pancakes that he shares on my sick days. Thank you Elaine... as Austin says, "you're the bomb dot com."
Back to manly projects. This apron that Luke is wearing was the pride and joy project for them for a while. They picked out their own buttons and color of fabric to put on the aprons. Speaking of which when we go to the fabric store they find all kinds of fabric that they want. They know what I'm a succor for and quite frankly those spiderman, go Diego, John Deere tractor prints are super adorable. Anyways, the chef hat was part of Tad's present for me for my birthday. Now when we cook we must put on the chefs hat, per Austin's orders.
We enjoyed going to the Idaho Falls festivities this year for the 4th of July celebration. This included the very very very long parade and firework show.
Our neighbor, a police officer, promised us the best illegal firework show we had ever seen. I thought well I don't know if I have ever seen an illegal firework, so here we go. He wasn't joking. It was intense. So intense that a firework landed in my hair and burnt a part of my hair and scalp. Okay, so then we were a little freaked out. We may omit the illegal firework show from our festivities in the future.
Before the illegal firework show we really enjoyed a neighborhood BBQ. My kids had a blast playing with all of the kids.

By the way your family is adorable, I love all the pictures you've posted!
What adorable cooks! We missed you at the family reunion but also understand that sometimes it just isn't in the cards - maybe next year.
Those two little cooks at your house are too cute. Looks like fun times.
